Dinner at the Residence of the Greek Ambassador in honour of the Kirabikai Group of the MG School of Latin Calligraphy (May 24, 2004)
A warm and elegant atmosphere prevailed during the dinner hosted in honour of 15 young ladies students of the MG School of Latin Calligraphy in Tokyo by the Greek Ambassador on May 24, 2004.
Welcoming his guests Ambassador Rodoussakis expressed
his appreciation on the excellent and elegant performance of the School
of Latin Calligraphy, so successfully run and animated by Ms. Muriel
Gaggini Tanaka over the last 10 years. Responding to the wish expressed
by the participant ladies, Ambassador Rodoussakis described the evolution
of the Greek alphabet, since the ancient time. Scriptures and the
forms of the Greek writing in the prehistoric period (Minoan and Mycenaean
civilization) was also illustrated, as well as samples of Greek calligraphy
of the Byzantine period were presented to the participant ladies.
Ms. Muriel Gaggini Tanaka, President of the School, thanked the Ambassador of
Greece for hosting a dinner with the typical Greek hospitality and for the presentation
of the Greek Alphabet, wishing well at the same time for the success of the upcoming
2004 Olympic Games to be held in Greece. |
